Forest Holidays offers holidays and short breaks in the UK’s most beautiful forests, and is known as the nature-lover’s choice for luxury cabin holidays.
City Access Scaffolding was appointed to erect scaffolding for eleven new cabins on the shores of stunning Loch Lubnaig in Strathyre, Scotland, completing in time for the site’s launch in Spring 2016.
We were involved early in the design phase so that we could manage the project more efficiently, provide effective building solutions, and identify challenges early on to mitigate design changes where required.
This involved detailed pre-construction planning crucial to successful construction and on-time delivery, and allows the client and team a clear pathway to the bidding process, construction phase, and through to completion.
Loch Lubnaig is within the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park and offered our team a unique workplace setting during the build, surrounded by amazing views and wildlife.

The environment is at the heart of the Forest Holidays ethos and all the cabins have been designed to combine beauty with sustainability. The wooden exteriors sit harmoniously in their woodland surroundings and the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows bring the outside in. All cabins also feature low-cost heating systems and gutters that allow water to flow back into the forest.
Forest Holidays’ luxury timber and glass cabins provide the perfect base to explore. Most offer enchanting views of Loch Lubnaig, while others are arranged together in a grassy glade between forest and loch. Encircled by forest, loch and mountain, Strathyre is the ultimate holiday escape.
There are four one-bedroom Golden Oak Hideaway cabins available from February. Designed and built exclusively for romantic couples’ holidays, the Golden Oak Hideaway is a cosy love-nest, complete with hot tub and hammock on the decking, a wood burning stove, and a decadent sunken bath, big enough for two, with a forest view.
There will also be four one-bedroom and three four-bedroom Golden Oak cabins, offering superior positions, fluffy robes in the en-suite, outdoor hot tub and a log burning stove in the spacious living area. These are the first Hideaway and four-bedroom cabins to be built by Forest Holidays in their Scotland locatons.
