We are looking for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to embark on a career with us In April 2024. You will be given the opportunity to learn about the wider business and spend time developing your knowledge and skills by working closely with our management team and will be offered ongoing training relevant to your role.
Graduate Quantity Surveyor will work under the supervision of our Director to manage their workload ensuring that the valuation process is undertaken on all projects and manage any scope change where required in the set time scales.

Roles & responsibilities
- The role will assist the business with cost monitoring, budget implementations/monitoring, systems management/creation and review if suitable to sustain growth.
- Manage procurement, tender reviews, contract administration, variations and management of subcontract works packages from pre-tender through to the final account and any debt chased.
- Manage the commercial items of City Access small works to large scale projects while working with the operations team to maximise cash flow and margin through job tracking, cost capturing, invoicing & applications.

- Assess, review, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks (with support).
- Attend site visits to liaise/meet with clients to either review new potential contracts or existing contract commercial positions/issues.
- Create quick VO/SI costs based on existing rates to be pro-rata for agreed projects while reviewing with op's team to deliver competitive costs/solutions to clients' works.
- Monitor and input data from ops team to control sheets for projects to collect data on actuals v tendered costs and provide report for estimating/op’s team to learn lessons. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with existing & new clients.
- Manage any NEC3/4 and other construction commercial contracts to ensure the business is protected and acting as per contract.
- Track PO’s incoming from contracts and works, update op’s team of new PO/order to track from start to completion to ensure all costs/invoices are issued.
